As a young immigrant from Pakistan, Shafqat Mahmood moved to Seattle, Washington in the late 1970s with the ambition of operating his own business. He began his career working in the restaurant industry from the bottom up, starting as just an employee and slowly climbed the ladder to become the Manager for various major restaurant giants such as McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Denny’s, Jack in the Box, and Dairy Queen. Shafqat desired the experience of working within these food giant in order to gain experience within different styles of hospitality, which he used to open up his very own Pakistani/Indian food restaurant in Downtown Seattle in 1990.
Shafqat’s enthusiasm and love for both his customers and food only grows as time progresses. His challenge is simple, to allow a customer an experience he or she can look forward to every weekday, Monday-Friday during lunch. Shafqat crafts his dishes with creativity and love so that every individual that walks in, will have a delightful experience. His connection with people stirs a bond that is truly unique. With only room for improvement, Shafqat strives for keeping his customers happy and fulfilled with the selection of over 15 different curries perfected everyday to present a flavorful and delicious lunch combination.
